Salyersville takes pride in its Main Street Program. Their headquarters are in the historic “Old Salyersville National Bank” building in the middle of downtown.
This magnificent restored building is constructed of huge local quarried sandstone and was built by journeymen Italian stone masons, the same that attained notoriety in Paintsville and other communities. It was completed in 1912. Much of this type stone masonry in the community has been lost to history. This magnificent example has miraculously survived.
This gorgeous structure is made available for weddings, showers, public meetings, and other uses. The Main Street Program follows the nationally prescribed four-point approach: organization, promotion, design, and economic re-structuring. Through their activities and initiatives, our downtown continues to be made better.
