Volunteer Fire Department

Fire Chief Paul Howard and his team have 60+ years’ experience in firefighting, rescue, and EMS service. A trained certified full-time employee mans the station 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Twenty-four additional volunteer firefighters are on-call if needed. In addition to personnel, the Salyersville Fire Department boasts state-of-the-art equipment. Their fleet inventory consists of two fire engines, a mini-pumper, ladder truck, and four command vehicles as well as an inventory of tools and equipment necessary in fighting fires and responding to other emergency situations.

The Salyersville Volunteer Fire Department is charged with answering all fire and EMS calls in the Salyersville city limits. They also make their self-available to assist other local and regional fire departments outside the city limits whenever the need arises. Disaster happens all too often. The department takes great pride in their accomplishments and has earned an ISO Class IV rating. The SVFD is dedicated to safety, service, and the well-being of the local and regional community.
