Police Department

The Salyersville Police Department has three full-time and one part-time police officer. Their headquarters are in the same building as the Salyersville Volunteer Fire Department at 134 East Maple Street in downtown Salyersville. The department is dedicated to keep Salyersville safe.

Veteran Police Chief Neil Adams and his officers realize the biggest problem facing Salyersville, like other small-towns, is the use and abuse of both prescription and other illegal drugs.

“Not only are the direct effects of drug abuse awful, secondary crimes including child abuse and neglect, theft, violent crime, impaired driving, and a host of others harm our society greatly.”

“This is why we make fighting the drug problem a top priority.”

The Salyersville Police Department’s goal is that Salyersville continues to be a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family. Our mission: “We commit ourselves to utilize all resources available to justly enforce the law.” We assist, coordinate, and cooperate with adjoining and neighboring jurisdictions so that we may achieve our mission.
